CGE is undertaking the construction of a 100 Megawatt Independent Power Plant (IPP) in the Ikorodu local government area of Lagos State.

The project will help reduce the shortfall and meet the ever growing demand of power supply in Nigeria; It is proposed that the new plant will be built adjacent to the existing Egbin Power Plant and will consist of two gas turbines and one steam turbine

The first phase of the project would to be the installation of a gas turbine which will operate in simple cycle mode initially while the second gas turbine and  steam turbine will be installed in phase two, thus making it a fully combined cycle plant.

Included within the first phase will be all the piling and foundation work for the whole 100 Megawatt plant. Feasibility studies have been concluded and EPC contract is currently been negotiated.
